given me the opportunity to expand my skill set and work in different fields throughout my career. From Energy Efficiency to Power Generation and on to Planning, I have gained insight that has helped me become a more valuable
member of the organization. I have experienced first-hand
how vital our generation is to the stability of the grid for all of
NY and the surrounding states."

NYPA is always looking for potential leaders, especially among those of you in the early stages of your career.
Your energy and enthusiasm is contagious; your fresh ideas can help NYPA remain a leader in the ever-changing world of electric utilities.
In return, we'll provide you with a stimulating work environment that respects hard work and rewards excellence. We strive for diversity in our work force, with employees of varying ages, backgrounds and abilities. And because there's plenty of room to grow and stretch within our organization, many of our employees choose
to stay with us for 20 years or more.
We have a number of different internship opportunities available throughout the year at our offices and facilities around the state. Some of these positions are seasonal; some are administrative. Requirements and responsibilities vary from job-to-job and site-to-site.
We also have a Developmental Internship Program that offers high-performing college students in certain fields
of study a solid foundation for their careers, with critical
job experience. As a developmental intern, you will carryout specific duties and responsibilities while
receiving a substantial amount of supervision in department and corporate procedures under the
guidance of an assigned mentor.
Third-year college students with a minimum 3.0 GPA are eligible to apply for developmental internships
NYPA-wide in the following areas:
- Engineering (civil, electrical, mechanical, financial)
